Lapbook The wrap up on this one had me twirling my hair in frustration. When ever I looked up loyalty on the internet I kept coming across those silly “loyalty cards” you get for shopping and specific stores. Like those you get at craft stores–where you get a hole punch every time you spend $5 or a stamp every time you spend $25. So I decided that is what we were going to do. LOYALTY CARDS!! LOL, and then–I had to figure out what in the world I was going to have the kids put them in. Well naturally I thought of a wallet. So I started creating one. Well that didn’t work so well, so I created another, and another. LOL, I was soooo tired of it I was about to chuck the whole Idea. Then I decided there has to be someone in the world that has created a wallet! So I went looking for instructions. And I found some!! So that is what you will get. You have a few options though and if the instructions don’t make any sense, I did provide a simple pocket for them! Project Pack Ok this Unit has 2 projects–Naturally. The first one is a simple collage. They will begin by looking up the word Loyalty in the thesaurus and writing down synonyms and antonyms. then they will hunt for pictures that show loyalty. they are then to add the pictures (10-15) to a poster sheet. They can also play with different fonts with the words they looked up to find the pictures. They then have an option to use the words they found to be antonyms and create a collage showing disloyalty. The next project is on being an American. They are to create a report in one of it’s various forms on just being an American (Please note you can use these sheets for any nationality) Part of being an American is knowing your country, Knowing what is going on and knowing how you feel about it, and if you want to fix it. I encourage each of your children to get involved. it is our civic duty to keep our Government leaders on their toes and doing right by our nation. |
