Unit 3: Responsibility
I found it hard to narrow down the stories to fill only 2 weeks. this
was a wonderful unit filled with many patriotic themes such as the
American’s Creed, and Declaration of Independence. As a Navy wife and
Army/Air Force brat, i just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take a
few minutes and share my LOVE and HONOR for our Nation with my children.
These Documents may be old and hard to understand, but that is why we
must take every opportunity we get to brush up against these wonderful
Ideals that our nation was founded on. To Celebrate the Greatness that
is our Nation. To celebrate our Freedom’s, and Remember all those that
have died for fighting for a cause that will effect not only their
loved ones they left behind, but generations yet to come.
This unit shares not only the idea of personal responsibility to yourself, your family and your God. But also your Nation. i know that it is a lost tradition nowadays to worry about your nation. It is missing in today’s educational system-for fear of offending the wrong person with a few words. But I pray that it will come back stronger then ever as our Youth learn the importance of Freedom not only for them to be mouthy and crude, but to live and worship our God as we see fit. i pray that they will one day realize what a gem they have always hidden, tucked away that they never realized they had–That of a citizenship in our Great nation. Miracles can Happen! :) Worksheets Information can be found on Unit one page COPYWORK Information can be found on Unit one page Vocabulary Information can be found on Unit one page for the different sections. Project Pack The first project is Hard-Boiled Parenting. It is the task of keeping a “baby” egg for 1 week there are worksheets, care logs and even random events that will make taking care of the baby a little exciting. It is quite in depth. Please adjust it for your child’s abilities. They are to create a journal with the worksheets. The second project is a research project on your child’s hero. They are to write a 5 paragraph essay after their research. There is a source page for writing down sources used and a notes page for helping them come up with an outline for their essay. |
