Mythology Around the World
Map Work:
To show them WHERE we are talking about, I
have included a map for them to color in. I have boxes to create a
legend (map key) so they can pick a crayon and color the box, then color
the location on the map.
Mythology Around the World Map: http://www.mediafire.com/view/?jbasd3lcp50k4c9 Timeline: To show them WHEN we are talking about I am adding a mini-timeline. This has a 500 year time-span between markings, beginning at 2000 b.c. to present. There are suggested time periods listed. Below is a second timeline that has the markings already included. You can use this if you are short of time. Timeline: ?http://www.mediafire.com/?5joabs31l0h1q4y Marked Timeline: http://www.mediafire.com/?y5pegexhlx2fdba If you do both the map and the timeline, I highly suggest coordinating the color used on the map with coloring over the line for the time period segment. If you use the marked timeline, just have the kids pick the color of the line to color in the map. ************************************************************************************************************** The Project Folder For the project folder it will be like the one I created for the Idaho History Unit (pictures are available throughout the Idaho Unit Study). It is NOT the same as a LapBook. I like it so much better than an oddly folded folder that just does not store well. Instructions for the Project Folder can be found under the Lesson plans tab or by visiting this page here: http://shiveracademy.weebly.com/the-project-folder.html For this project, it will take 3 file folders to have enough pages for all of the mini-books and add-ons. You will need about 10 page protectors for each project folder and 10 brads to hold them. There are a few other items that you will need through out the study, such as brads for individual mini-books. Here is a cover page for your project folder: http://www.mediafire.com/view/?8t0qr3mn02jh8nr I also recommend using a stretch of Duct Tape to protect the spine. I used some colored duct tape in order to give it a fun spine look. This project folder will be rather thick once you are finished. By protecting the spine, your folder will be less likely to fall apart if it should be come too thick. |
The basic Outline will be the following:
Week 1: Norse Mythology Week 2: Irish Mythology Week 3: Asian Mythology Week 4: Greek/Roman Mythology Week 5: Egyptian Mythology Week 6: African Mythology Week 7: Native American Mythology Week 8: Mesoamerican Mythology ******* If I had a 10 week schedule I would break Roman and Greek Mythology apart and cover Russian Mythology as well. |
