With the exception of the Lapbook pages, Chapter 6 study guide for "A Young People's History of the United States" is available! Also, Josh Drozdowski, an instructor at Digital Learning Academy, will be helping with this project. He's providing post-chapter tests! Those will be available a bit at a time.

I received an email this last week asking that the study for "A Young People's History of the United States" to receive a little attention. So this last weekend I pondered and poked at it. I am currently working on Chapter 6 and I am close to getting it done. I will only be able to focus a few days a week on this project, but I'll keep it going until it is finished.
I'll keep everyone updated! ~t8ermomma Tonight I added some links to the American Geography page and the Eastern Hemisphere page.
The American Geography page is as updated as possible for downloads. I'm still working on getting the descriptions figured out for what we actually did. Weeks 1-5 are a bit sketchy. I don't remember right off the bat what we did, but I'm pretty sure once I pull out the binder I'll have a clearer idea. The Eastern Hemisphere page is almost as updated as the American Geography class. I need to go through and add weeks 1-5 links in. I have a better idea of what I did in there. My memory is pretty faulty right now, so if I seem a bit confused, that could be why! :) I feel like I'm slowly getting caught up! :) ~T8ermomma Still working around the blog! I've begun a page on my American Geography class. This is barely started. I still need to upload all the files and attach the links. BUT it's started!
Upcoming to that page: Links to all of the weeks work, visuals, etc. Break down of lessons. There are a lot of Hands on things that we did that I can't just put in a file. Such as when we went to Vermont, we went Skiing! Hubby made me 5 sets of cardboard skis and they got to take turns skiing. In Michigan we made an assembly line and created cars out of candy. You just can't see that on a file. So I will be adding more information as I go. The first few weeks of the American Geo & the Eastern Hemisphere studies are coming as well. I have to pull together the resources again. So that I can make it all make sense! Today has been a busy day around Shiver Academy! Today I've updated many, MANY links. And though I can't say that they are now all off of MediaFire, most of them are. I will continue to work on that.
I've also added a new page! Under Lesson plans, and then Geography Pit Stop, you will now find Eastern Hemisphere! This is an extension of Geo Pit Stop! It is what I am doing in class while I teach at Harmony Options Day (A not exactly local charter school that is for Homeschoolers). This is a 36 week Class. We are visiting many countries in the Eastern Hemisphere to include Kenya, China, Russia, Napal, and many more. We are also doing a country report and comparing all of our visited countries to the United States. We are keeping an updated passport and a country cookbook as well! While the page is not complete, I have all the country connections that we have finished linked to a drop box file. Those files should be accessible to you now. If you have a problem, please email me so I can help you out! (I just started using Drop Box, so I may have a few kinks in the system!) I will be getting actual pages made with "what we did" instructions etc. I hope to get those done soon, but the files will at least get you started! ~T8ermomma I have fully uploaded the files for the Book of Virtues here on Shiver Academy, with the Exception of the complete download. It is now on Drop Box. You should have a clear access to it. If you have any problems on any of the pages, please take me a moment to shoot me an email so I can fix it.
Keep in mind the full Download is 18.9 MB! It's a huge file! Yes, here at Shiver Academy I am back and we are under construction once again, or is that Reconstruction?? Either way, "I'm workin' here!"
Current work going on that should be done at a steady pace; Files are being moved!! Yes, you read that right. I am getting rid of MediaFire (It's ok, go ahead and cheer, I'll wait for you . . .) I am moving most of the files as direct downloads from . . . SHIVER ACADEMY! How cool is that. I just found out I can do that! However, the Book of Virtues full download is too large for my site. SO . . .I will move that to Drop Box and I'll have a direct link that will allow you to download it, HOPEFULLY without getting lost in the junk that Media Fire has all over it. I am so sorry that MediaFire is no longer the fine site it was. :{ I pretty much ignored it until everyone started complaining! I haven't had a whole lot of time to work on my site, but I'm hoping to dedicate a small amount of time every week at least until the files are moved over and the pages are updated. We'll get the Mediafire issue fixed at any rate!! This should be my top priority. Projects/lesson Plans that I am working on updating: World History (High School), American Geography (Grades 3-5), Eastern Hemisphere Geo (Grades 6-8), American History (High School), and I'm sure there are other projects I have waiting for me to "get a round to-it"! We'll see how much I can toss on here! I may use Evernote as a way to share information and lesson plans as well. It's a great program and I use it every week right now for my Geography classes. I will make the decision on what is easiest for you all! (Or maybe as a quick link until I get everything transferred . . hmm, we'll see!) Thanks so much for all of you stopping by, STILL! I was floored when I saw that I have 200+ visitors every day even though I've been pretty much inactive! Hang in there folks, I'll get this back up and running!! T8ermomma |
